We had a memorable experience staying at the hotel and enjoying dinner at the restaurant. The hotel staff is friendly and welcoming. Our room was small, as expected for the countryside, but also beautifully appointed and comfortable. The restaurant was a bit of a welcome surprise. We looked at the menu and thought it a touch more fancy then we wanted. But we stayed, and were rewarded with good service, delicious meals (steak and lamb) and an overall very enjoyable evening. The Peacock is a delightful property, and we'd count ourselves fortunate to return. By the way, we also left some electronics behind and the staff was very helpful with securing their return.
Dinner at the Peacock on Saturday night was excellent. The food was fantastic although not, perhaps, exceptional -everything was done well but nothing stood out as particularly memorable. Service was excellent although not quite perfect - wine service was slow at times and aperitifs arrived after the wine. That said, we had a good time and it was great value for money for the quality of food and wine provided. I would certainly return.
Thank you all so much for making our stay so fabulous. The Peacock is a beautiful and very well run hotel where welcome, excellent food wonderful service is paramount. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We were at the Peacock not only for a short break but also to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. The staff made us feel so special and even took some photos for us to remember it all by. We will be back.
